    Today was the day the city has been waiting for. The Splash Park is officially open. Over a year and a half ago, Wayne County awarded River Rouge a $300,000 grant as part of its Community Development Block Grant and the Neighborhood Stabilization Fund demonstration project program to build a splash park in the city.
