    Janet Dey has been serving as cashier for Garden City Presbyterian Church's Annual Strawberry Festival since the event first originated 46 years ago. On Friday, June 15, Dey, now 96, will once again be ringing up local residents who partake in the church's community outreach event.   • Inkster Recognizes Centenarian Residents

    Local history is alive and well in the city of Inkster. At a recent city council meeting, the organization, Inkster Citizens Who Care, presented the city with a photograph display honoring Inkster residents who are 100 years of age or older. The display was titled, "The 2017 History Making Centenarians of Inkster, Michigan."     I was watching Supergirl last Monday when I suddenly started to get a lecture in gun control. Not in person but from the show. This isn't the first time that a CW Arrowverse show preached about gun control. Last year the show Arrow approached the subject. Which causes me and many others to ask, why must the left turn everything into a political message. I just want to be entertained not constantly informed.
