    New York (CNN Business)Negotiators from General Motors and the United Auto Workers union have reached a tentative deal to end a 31-day strike by nearly 50,000 workers. Details of the agreement were not immediately available. The deal was confirmed by Terry Dittes, the UAW's chief negotiator with GM.     On Saturday, October 12, the Garden City Fire and Police Departments each hosted an Open House for the community. The free family event ran from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and gave the public a chance to tour the fire house and the police department.
