Give Honor Where Honor Is Due

Love Joy MBC celebrates Founders Day with Mother Hattie White and the community

The bible speaks of a widow in Timothy 5:5 NIV The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help and not just for herself but for many others.

Mother Hattie White a 96 year old humble woman and a great servant of the communities has been honored every year in the 2nd week of November for the last 20 years. The Love Joy Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Darryl Bynum set this time aside to give homage to the late Pastor Albert (AJ) White and his wife Hattie White. Love Joy Missionary was organized as a church September 2, 1967 at 3181 Electric St, Detroit, MI by Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. George Brazil. On September 28, 1976, The members of Love Joy Missionary Baptist Church marched into their new church home located at 332 Polk St. in River Rouge, MI where they are presently now.

Due to the diligence, faith and hard work of both Pastor Albert (AJ) White, Mother Hattie White, faithful members and the grace of God, Love Joy still stand with some of it's great praying friends who were there in the beginning and who stands in the gap like Mother Thomasena Johnson, Mother Ellen Walton, Mother Bertha White and Pastor Arthur Willis of Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church in Romulus, Michigan suggested that the Love Joy Missionary Baptist Church should honor Pastor White and Mother White by celebrating Founder's Week every year in the first week of November. These were the times when churches worked together to build the kingdom of God and when churches came out of their comfort zone to assist one another. Something that is so needed now! But God is a rewarding God that sees all and knows all. So let us learn to love one another and to be a support to each other and not a stumbling block.
