They began on Tuesday at the Sheraton Hotel where we had the Big Raffle drawing .It was a huge success. This is how we pay for the Xmas giveaway. On Friday State representative Jewell Jones and friends did the toy shopping at Meijer. On Saturday we vegan at the Inkster Uhaul who donated the truck and storage for the event. Then we met at Kroger on Merriman and Cherryhill where they did the food shopping for 100 families. I gave them a shopping list and they had boxes and large bags donated by Texas Roadhouse for the dairy and other items that couldn't fit in the boxes.we gad several volunteers including the Westland John Glenn basketball team and coaches and staff along with the Robichaud High School basketball team and coaches. We also had the Westwood Schools Superintendent Dr Simmons volunteer. We met the other volunteers at the Booker Dozier Recreation Complex where we distributed all the toys and food for the 100 families with a set time to pick up there Xmas package, for two weeks worth of groceries and toys for over 300 kids.Lubch was provided by S&F Foods in Romulus Hungry Howie in Garden City and Laquita Gordon supplied to chicken from Captain J in Inkster for all of our volunteers. Golden Coral also provided our toy shoppers on Friday with lunch.
