Come On People, Wear a Mask

The number of cases of people having a positive test for COVID-19 has been increasing. Then why are people still not wearing a mask or face covering?

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order in July of 2020 reiterating that people are required to wear a face covering whenever they are in an indoor public space or crowded outdoor spaces. I'm sure this wasn't done to penalize anyone. This was done to save people lives. Earlier this summer, it looked liked Michigan had finally got a handle on the Coronavirus. I was so excited when I saw our state was green as I watched MSNBC. You see the green color meant that our number of COVID-19 numbers were steady, meaning that the number of cases hadn't increased over the past seven days. I long to see a green State of Michigan again.

What is it going to take to make that happen? It is kinda simple. It's three easy steps. The same three steps that we have heard since March are the same steps that we need to do today. Say it with me... 1) Wear a mask or face covering, 2) Practice social distancing (stay at least six feet away from the person next to you) and lastly, 3) wash your hands often. We all know what we need to do, so let's do it.

Dr. Fauci said that if 80% of the people wear a mask, we will save 100,000 lives by December.

As of this today, there were 144,000 new cases for the last three days and over 235,000 deaths thus far from COVID-19. We must do our part so that the frontline workers, doctors and nurses can get their lives back.

I ask you to do your part and help save the lives of people in your family and your community. I know you are tired of wearing a mask, I know I am, but the sooner we come together and all wear a mask, we can win the battle against COVID-19.
