We Still Need to Wear a Mask

The number of cases of people having a positive test for COVID-19 has been increasing. Michigan is the top state with new cases over the last week. Our numbers have now reached the level of cases that we had in December. Then why are people still not wearing a mask or face covering when they are outside around people? I have even seen people come into the gas station without a face covering or mask. If they look friendly, I might say, 'hey man, did you forget your mask?'

I just knew we were going to be in shut down mode by now. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is probably moving a little slow since she got so much flack from the Republican Legislators when she and the health director had restrictions for local businesses.

Sometimes I understand that people want to make sure their businesses are making money. But when you put profits over the lives of your family, friends and the community, I think there is a problem.

No matter how much money you have, you can not spend it if you are dead. President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order on his first day in office that impressed on people to wear a mask for the first 100 days. We are in about day 80; if people would have done that our numbers would be going in the right direction.

I pray that people will start wearing their mask more so that our numbers will be such that all businesses can open and the number of people testing positive will go down substantially.

Come on people, please wear a mask or face covering.
