Dearborn
The city of Dearborn urges all residents to cooperate when a Snow Emergency is declared whenever three inches or more of snow is expected to fall. Please move all parked vehicles off the streets to allow snow plows access. Parked vehicles left on the streets will be ticketed. Police will not issue warnings. Tickets are $80. Dearborn Heights
The John F. Kennedy Library will be hosting a new book club beginning Monday, January 3. The Fireside Book Chat will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The featured book will be “Sourdough” by Robin Sloan and is currently available at the library, which is located at 24602 Van Born Road. Refreshments will be served.
Senior Yoga classes are held each Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Eton Senior Center gym, located at 4900 Pardee. No registration is required, cost is $3 per session. Detroit
The family-friendly New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown will take place on Friday, December 31 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Beacon Park, located at 1901 Grand River Avenue. The free event will take place inside a heated venue and will feature music, dancing, children’s activities and food trucks. A countdown to “midnight” and confetti will be part of the fun.
Ecorse
The Ecorse City Council will meet on Tuesday, December 28 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers located in the Buday Civic Center at 3869 W. Jefferson.
Wayne
The Wayne City Council will meet Tuesday, January 4 at 7 p.m. at Wayne City Hall, located at 3355 S. Wayne Road.
Wayne County
The Wayne County Treasurer’s Office will be closed from Friday, December 24 to Monday, January 3, 2022. Payments can be made online at http://www.treasurer.waynecounty.com , via the mobile app, at any payment kiosk, or by phone at 313-224-5990.
All Wayne County Public Health COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics will be closed from Friday, December 24 to Monday, January 3, 2022. Clinics will resume Tuesday, January 4.
