It's Election Season

All cities in Michigan will have a General Election on Tuesday, November 8th. I know it is not the Presidential election, but it is important that you exercise your right to vote. It is time to learn about the candidates who are running to represent you.

The positions that they are trying to hold has more of an effect on your daily lives than the presidency. The positions are Mayors/Supervisors, City

Council persons/trustees, Clerks, Treasures and Judges. Take some time to get to know the candidates. I always encourage people to attend City Council meeting, but when there is an election, this is the optimal time to stop by learn how the current elected officials handle business. You will be

able to determine if you feel the people that currently hold a position represent the values that you want to see in your elected officials. Use this time to learn what is going on and how your vote will make a difference.

Once you turn 18 years old, you have the right to vote. The General Election is less than two weeks away. Make sure you have what you need to vote. Stop by your local city clerk's office to register and ask any questions you may have. Don't miss out on your opportunity to vote.
