Dale Rich has been a photojournalist for over 45 years. He developed his love for photography while attending Cass Technical High School.
Not only is he a photojournalist, he is acclaimed as a researcher and historian for documentaries. He is a collector of Black American images, and has put on many photo exhibits in libraries, universities and other institutions of learning that showcase the lives and the experiences of African Americans.
Rich's research and photographs have contributed to numerous books including, Black Union Soldiers in the Civil War, Forbidden Fruit, Freedom by Any Means, Love Stories from the Underground Railroad,
and Black Detroit. He continues to conduct photo exhibits in Detroit, Ann Arbor and other cities throughout the United States where he provides a photographic history of Black America.
For over 30 years, he has compiled a photographic library of historic African Americans. Some of the people that is included in his library is Former Congressmen John Conyers, and John Lewis, Former President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Jesse Jackson, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and many iconic events such at the annual 'Bloody Sunday and the Million Women's March, Annual programs at Woodlawn Cemetary and many other events.
