Merry Christmas and I pray you have a peaceful and productive Christmas break. This week I want to speak to the students and parents of high school and college students.
I know that you will have about two weeks to relax from doing school work and going to class, but this is not the time to do nothing.
For those of you that are juniors and seniors in high school, you can use this time to look for scholarships if you plan on going to college. You can also use this time to research the different schools that have been coming to your schools or that you are interested in. For those of you who want to go straight into the work force, look for apprenticeship programs or look for companies that you might want to work for,
Similar things can be done by college students that are home for the break. Look into some internship programs or check into some companies that you have been hearing about that gets you excited.
But the main thing that you should do is use this time to talk to family members, friends, classmates that already graduated that you trust. Having conversations, not texting, will provide you an opportunity to improve your communication skills and listening skills that you can use in future interviews.
Whatever you decide to do, use this time for you. This will be two weeks that will hopefully help you plan for your future.
