Downriver Community Conference to host two meetings on future of former industrial sites

Public invited to attend informational meetings

WHAT

The Downriver Community Conference (DCC) will hold two important Open House Community Meetings where everyone can discuss the future of former industrial sites in Ecorse, River Rouge, Riverview, Trenton, and Wyandotte including Decommissioned DTE Power Plants and other underutilized properties. Through a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the DCC is working to help redevelop the Jefferson Avenue corridor into a series of thriving districts where residents, businesses, and visitors are engaged, have opportunities to shop, can meet their day-to-day needs, can find high-quality jobs, enjoy recreation, or spend leisure time. It also seeks the productive redevelopment of two former coal-fired power plant sites in River Rouge and Trenton.
