Western Wayne County NAACP extends Scholarship Deadline to May 1st

The Western Wayne County Branch of the NAACP is pleased to announce the application period

for our 2024 scholarship. This year we will award four (4) scholarships to deserving high school

graduates selected from the 24 cities that we serve. The criteria for consideration:

* Graduating high school senior with a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA

* A resident or attend school in one of the 24 cities located in the WWC NAACP jurisdiction

* A college, community college, or trade school acceptance letter

* Two letters of recommendation: school and community (one from each)

* A minimum 500 word "combined" personal statement and essay on the following topics:

If you were the President of the NAACP, what are the top 3 social justice concerns that you

would address and try to improve? State your reasons why. Also include why it is important

for teens and young adults to be members of the NAACP.

2024 Scholarship Award Amounts:

Two $1,000 scholarships to students attending a 4 year college or university

Two $500 scholarships to students attending a 2 or 4 year program (college or trade school)

Application Deadline:

All scholarship applications and supporting documents must be postmarked by May 01, 2024.

Late and incomplete applications, as well as essays that do not address the topic or adhere to the guidelines, will not be considered for a scholarship

award.
