The River Rouge Panthers are the undisputed winningest high school boys' basketball program in the history of Michigan High School Basketball. The program was featured in a documentary and headlined the 11th annual Freep Film Festival. The festival began with a screening of the film on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Detroit Film Theatre, inside the Detroit Institute of Arts.

"Rouge," was created by filmmaker Hamoody Jaafar, who masterfully shares a history of winning that began with the legendary Lofton C. Greene and his willingness to integrate the team during an era of segregation to a heartwarming story of the top ranked 2020 boys' team, led by coach Lamonte Stone, whose season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic as they were preparing to win their 15th state championship.

Additionally, The River Rouge School District and DQS Solutions & Staffing announces a historic partnership. DQS Solutions and Staffing has demonstrated they are committed to improving the outcomes for students in the River Rouge School district through a multi-year agreement that is worth nearly $2 million. Details of the agreement include naming rights for DQS/Panther Stadium and other marketing opportunities throughout the district. DQS will provide an annual investment, yearly scholarships, paid summer internships, including training and job opportunities for graduates.

Dr. Derrick R. Coleman, Superintendent of Schools believes the strength of this partnership is far greater than the revenue it is generating. "It is an indisputable fact that children will rarely become what they have not seen. Therefore, this partnership affords our students additional access and opportunity to help shape who they will become once they graduate." CEO Josh Morris and DQS are committed to nurturing and fostering professional growth opportunities for our students through employment, networking opportunities, valuable real-world experiences, mentorship, and career pathways.
