Serving Metropolitan Detroit Since 1944
The wait is over. After several tries to reactivate the Highland Park NAACP Brancn, it has been done. On May 18th, 2024 it became official.
Several die hard community members worked tirelessly over the past seven months to get enough members to fulfill the requirements to be reactivated. They held membership drives at local churches, the Recreation Center, at Ministerial Alliance meetings, at Block Club meetings, and several businesses throughout the city of Highland Park.
Now it is time to celebrate and move forward to do the work of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
Come celebrate with other Freedom Fighters on Wednesday, June 26th at 5:30pm at the Ernest T. Ford Rec Center located at 10 Pitkin St. During this celebration event, more information will be shared by the Michigan State Conference on the next steps. They have also scheduled the date to hold branch elections as Wednesday, July 24th at the same place - Ernest T. Ford Rec. Center at 5:30pm.
