Meet and Greet with Senator Raphael Warnock.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity since 1936 has made it an initiative to register voters, inform and engage communities.

The Harris and Walz campaign host a Meet and Greek at The Historic Alpha House in Detroit, Michigan on Friday October 18, 2024. Alpha Phi Alpha's own Senator Raphael Warnock attends the gathering with great words of wisdom.

Senator Warnock is a member of the Senate serving the State of Georgia. The house was packed. Full of cheer, eagerness and patience. Senator Warnock, a pastor as well gave sermon. He will wait on the poll results, but expressing, "I do not believe there is a huge number of Black men voting for Donald Trump, because we know who Donald Trump is." He mentioned Trump foul and double down for the Exonerated 5. Furthermore, he expressed his support for women.

Attendee Diana Weiss sentiments of the event were about, "His message about women." Women have been a hot topic this election, especially reproductive rights. Voting affects your whole community. She further explains, "This is for their mothers, for their sisters, for their children, for their grandchildren, everything is on the line." The Senator connected with the ladies in the house.

As he encourages everyone to vote, he shared policies and proposal Vice President Harris is working on that he supports. One is a new cannabis bill. "We saw for decades how Black and Brown communities like this were literally hollowed out by enforcement of marijuana." Members of the crowd vocally support, sparking the remarks of the importance federally, tax wise and business.

The Senator wraps up stating, "Make sure everybody you know, ladae dadee, and everybody goes out to vote, because that's the real threat...the threat is apathy, and not showing up, the threat is indifferent, the threat is not seeing that stakes as high as they are," said Senator Warnock. "

Dr. Tony Henderson confirms the effectiveness of this event, "As Senator Warnock is saying, we can not afford to stay at home, we have to show up." Henderson echoes the significance of voting. He and his wife already voted. "I'm voting, not only for me but I have grandchildren. I do not need them to live in a country where they have less rights than I had growing up and coming up, so this is very important." As you know there are major issues, policies and plans for each party on the upcoming ballots. It highly recommended that all citizens capable of voting do so. It is your right to, exercise it.
