Serving Metropolitan Detroit Since 1944
The Tri-County Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) offers FREE mammograms, breast screenings, Pap smears and follow-up testing to eligible uninsured women or insured women who face high out-of-pocket costs due to their insurance deductible. We're part of the Michigan Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program and have been serving women in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties since 1992. We are now also serving Livingston and Washtenaw Counties.
A Little About Us
The Tri-County Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) is a community-based partnership created to help provide uninsured or under-insured individuals who face high out of pocket costs due to insurance deductibles full access to breast and cervical cancer screenings. We are one of the 11 regional programs authorized by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to accomplish this goal. Since 1992 the Tri-County BCCCP has provided over 120,000 free breast and cervical cancer screenings to local women. In addition to screening services we also provide needed follow up and help arrange treatment through our network of over 40 participating clinics and hospitals.
What We Offer
We offer free breast and cervical cancer screening for eligible individuals at no out-of pocket cost. Last year we provided these services for nearly 2,300 women in our community.
Screening
You can receive a clinical breast exam, mammogram and Pap smear. And you can receive your care from any of the many local clinics, offices or hospitals that partner with us.
Additional tests
If you need any additional tests after your screening we'll help you get those taken care of quickly – again, these services are free for those enrolled in the BCCCP.
Treatment
Fortunately, most test results are fine. But if you do have a potentially serious problem we'll be there to help you. While only a small number of women will need such treatment, it's reassuring to know that The Tri-County BCCCP will assist you.
Program eligibility depends on each woman's individual situation and we're happy to help you find out if you are eligible to enroll in the BCCCP. The major factors are listed below and we invite you to call us at (888) 242-2702 to get more information:
• You are 40 to 64 years old and need breast/cervical screening/diagnostic/ treatment services
• You are 21 to 39 years of age and need a Pap test or have been referred to BCCCP with an abnormal clinical breast exam which requires breast diagnostic services
•Michigan residents living in the Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Washtenaw County regions
•Uninsured or under-insured (high out of pocket costs due to insurance deductibles)
•Meeting income guidelines (under 250% Federal poverty level – call for details)
