Detroit Hosts 1% Better Speakers Conference Inspiring Personal and Professional Growth

Detroit, MI - On Saturday, November 9, 2024, Detroit's St. Regis Hotel was buzzing with energy as local entrepreneurs, professionals, and aspiring speakers gathered for the highly anticipated 1% Better Speakers Conference. The event, hosted by Keyon Clinton, brought together a dynamic lineup of speakers to the stage, each offering insights and strategies to help attendees improve both personally and professionally.

Clinton, creator of 1% Better, international speaker, execution coach, best-selling author, Forbes Next 1000 awardee who proudly hails from the east side of Detroit (48205), kicked off the conference with a motivating keynote on the power of incremental progress. "The concept of getting just 1% better each day is something we can all apply to our lives," Clinton said. "Small, consistent improvements lead to big transformations over time. Today, we're here to learn from one another and push ourselves forward."

Throughout the day, the conference was propelled by the vivacious emcee, Mykey Latia, as she introduced a series of inspiring talks from influential Detroit-area speakers who shared their unique experiences and expertise. Among the presenters were Kimberly Mallory, Brandy Peace, Jaye Hill, Dr. Eddie Connor, Krystal Williams, Lanasia Angelina, Mario Kelly, Andre Sanders, Anthony Johnson, TV personality Dr. Sabrina Jackson, and musical artist Neisha Neshae, who covered a range of topics including leadership development, personal finance, and overcoming adversity. Each speaker emphasized the importance of faith, resilience, and continuous self-improvement.

One of the most anticipated talks was delivered by Christopher Okoye, a Detroit native and former NFL player, who spoke about the challenges and rewards of having an "extreme gratitude mindset". He encouraged the audience when faced with disappointments to always fixate on getting better, maximize opportunities, focus on your own journey, and watch God work! "It's easy to feel overwhelmed when you think about the big picture," Okoye remarked. "But if you focus on improving just 1% every day, you'll find that the process becomes more manageable and the results are extraordinary."

Beyond the informative talks, the exquisitely adorned event decorated by Chisome Designs also provided valuable networking opportunities. Attendees had the chance to connect with Clinton and like-minded individuals to share ideas and collaborate on future projects. The intergenerational audience was able to engage with local professionals who were also on hand to showcase resources for entrepreneurs, professionals, and upstarts looking to take their careers and speaking platforms to the next level.

As the 1% Better Speakers Conference came to a close, the energy in the room was palpable. Clinton and the other speakers left attendees with a powerful message: growth is not about perfection, but about making consistent, deliberate improvements over time. Clinton closed the event reminding the audience that, "1% better every day equals 365% better every year".

Plans are already underway for next year's conference, scheduled for April 19, 2025, with Keyon Clinton promising an even bigger and more impactful event. "This is just the beginning," he said. "We're committed to building a community of people who realize that your story is your glory", and everybody has a story worth sharing.
